How do you handicap using the horse racing factors of speed, class, and form? How do you compare them to each other and then know which horse will win the race? Here are a few horse racing tips to help you figure out the best angles when approaching the problem of finding good bets.
First of all, no one knows for sure datos carreras americanas hoy which horse will win the race. Good handicappers know that the best they can do is to figure out a hierarchy and maybe some good probabilities of which horses have the best and worst chance of winning. Based on those probabilities they try to find a horse that is not being backed by the bettors as well as it should be. In other words, if a horse has a one out of three chance of winning (33%) but is going to post at 4-1, then it will pay enough so that if you did bet it three times and win once, you’d get back $10 for every $6 you wagered, based on a minimum $2 bet.
Speed is usually the most important of the three factors and you’ll usually find the winner in the top three or four horses for speed, especially in maiden races or races for horses that are racing up through their conditions in non winner lifetime races (written as NL2 and so forth in the program).
Start your handicapping by circling the top three speed horses in the race.
Next look for any horse making a significant class drop. Has it successfully competed at the level of today’s race in the past? Is this the lowest class race it has been in during its career? If so, the horse is a possible contender if it contested the pace in its last race or managed to hit the board.
Any horse that hasn’t raced in the last thirty days is always suspect no matter how competent the trainer may be at bringing a horse back from a layoff. Horses are athletes and nothing conditions them better than an actual race. You will be better served if you keep your selections to the horses that have shown some speed in the last thirty days or ones that competed at a much higher level in the last thirty days.
Mark your program with an s-1 beside the horse with the fastest speed in its last race. Then place an s-2 beside the horse with the second highest total and finally s-3 beside the third best speedster. You may also do the same for class using the purse values in their last races to create a hierarchy of the class horses. Look for any horse that is in the top three for class and speed that has also competed in the last thirty days.
Then assign your odds for your own morning line based on what you think each horse realistically should go to post with, for instance, your best horse, the one with fastest speed and some class might be at 5-2. Your next best at 3-1, etc. When they are ready to go to post, within one minute of post time, check the odds on the tote board and bet the horse with the best odds compared to your own calculatio
